The end = the beginning

At this point in my life I am literally at the end of one part  of my life and at the beginning of another. An employer is  preparing to leave this world and in anticipation I've started another job.
I don't know how I was able to get another job so quickly. But I am positive that I am appreciated at both jobs, not only because I am professional at them, but also because I am competent in both. And considering my past, that is hard to say, harder to accept and yet harder still to believe. But I do.
